Jiu-Jitsu is a practical self-defense system that emphasizes the manipulation of joints, utilizes the body’s natural movements and relies on simple scientific principles of force and leverage to thwart an attack. It is said to be one of the most complete self-defense systems in the world and involves kicks & punches (sparring), throws, joint locks, pressure points, and ground defenses as well as defenses against various weapons.
Karate is a martial art of Japanese origin that deals with attacks through evasive body movements and/or blocking, and counter attacks using kicks, punches and strikes.
